GOALS
Intended goals were the following :
- To be aware of decomposition process in pig carcasses in two differente areas : Shaded
and unshaded.
- To deal with:
- Larva development and its intra and interspecific competences.
- Biological behaviour of Diptera larvae respecting to natural resources.
- Try to link larva shapes with their growing stages through statistics.
- To compare temperatures data recorded in the weather station placed in Monte Julia (3
kilometers far from the test place) with the environmental ones and larva masses breeding
on pig carcasses.
- Collection of entomological specimens in relation to decomposition process and climatic
factors.
- Fix PMI based on capture of first larva in LIII stage, growing to pupa and adult stage.
This criteria was used for every Diptera species, in every season and pig.
- Study the results obtained in relation to the decomposition process in every pig.
- Taking into account Arthropod role captured in every environment ant its appearance
frequency , try to stablish a biological classification.
Study other parameters which could be useful in order to bring up a data base which
enables that Forensic Entomology in "Alto Aragón" develop.
